Unraveling the Threads of Kinship

Icebreaker Activity:  

Group discussion about family influences on anxiety. 

Directive #1 : “Family Tree”  Participants create a "Family Tree" collage, using images and symbols to represent  family members and their impact or draw your family but without using human figures.  

Discussion:  

1. Reflecting on your 'Family Tree' collage or representation without using human figures,  what symbols or elements did you choose to convey the influence and impact of your  family members on your life?  

2. How do these symbols capture the essence of your family connections and experiences? 

Art Materials offered: • Large sheets of paper or poster boards • Magazines, newspapers, or printed images • Scissors, glue sticks, and tape • Markers, colored pencils, or crayons

Workshop Goals: 

 1. Explore Emotions: Encourage participants to identify and express their anxiety, stress, and  pressure-related emotions. 

2. Enhance Communication: Facilitate improved communication skills to navigate family and  interpersonal relationships. 

3. Develop Coping Strategies: Teach participants art-based techniques to manage anxiety and  stress effectively. 

4. Promote Self-Reflection: Encourage self-reflection and awareness of personal triggers and  responses. 

5. Build Resilience: Empower participants to build resilience and cultivate a positive mindset.
